JOINING

Respect. For yourself, your fellow RPers, your admin, and the site. Any form of disrespect is not tolerated; as a member of Carstairs we wish for you to have an open mind.

When joining stay active. It's not much to ask, but it's annoying when someone joins, makes a character, gets accepted, and leaves. Seriously.

I'd prefer it if you joined with the name of your character [IE: elizabeth] and not some silly name such as [IE: robin102]. Please fix your name, with proper grammar, in your profile upon joining.

This is an advanced RP. Meaning that posts must have a good amount of quality and quanity to them. We do not have a strict amount of words-per-post, but at least three+ paragraphs will suffice. Posting is formatted as third person, past tense.

We are also unrated. Meaning that there will possibly be suggestive things in posts and you might come across stuff that could surprise you. This is why we wish you to be open minded when joining. Of course, there will be forewarnings to such things so you don't stumble upon them accidentally. It'd help if you threw in a [M] tag somewhere, too, but that's not required.

One character per account. Of course, you can make as many characters as you wish and the amount you can make is unlimited. However, we hope you're smart enough not to take on too many characters to the point you can't be active with all of them.

Here at Carstairs, since there are two admin, we work together. Which means before you're accepted into the site you need an approval stamp from BOTH of us. Keep in mind, we both have lives, and Zack works, but we do our best to keep up!

You will be sorted into a group upon approval - your name changing color is the indication that you can start roleplaying - do not post before this.

ROLEPLAYING

Do not, I mean do not bold your dialogue; you can color it, but no bolding. It's tacky. No not place astericks [*] or dashes [-] around your dialouge either, this is a forum roleplay, not a chat roleplay.

No God-moding. As an advanced RPer I expect you to know what this means. If not, good-bye.

Spell check is nice, as well, but not required. Unless, of course, you can't spell commonly used words such as Carstairs, Michigan, ect.

IMAGES / MODELS

Signatures should not stretch the page. If they do, they will be removed without notice. Size limit is 450 [width] by 200 [height]. There is no arguing that matter, and I don't care if your signature goes over one or two pixels, it will be deleted. It bothers me if they're bigger - yes, I have a large computer screen, but it makes my skin look wonky over here. It won't kill you to use a smaller set - or just put up icons if it's such a hassle.

Also, all models must and should be real life. I do not wish to see any animal, anime, or other cartoon styled claims. If an image you are using is copywrited, please do not use it unless you have permission and proof.

Character's names cannot match their model or any other model out there in any way. If someone is named Jessica Stam and whether you're using her as a model or not, you cannot have that name. If you have a model named Jessica Stam and your character's first, last, or middle name match in any way, that is also not accepted here. I will not accept a Jessica with Jessica Stam as her model. Any variation of the name is included in this rule. Sorry guys, but you're roleplaying an original character, NOT your model.

As for models you want to use, I will not accept any face claims of people who are not out there for your use: this refers to myspace, facebook, vampirefreaks, deviantart, and more. These people do not post their images for you. The end. Find a model, an actor, an actress, or a musician - there are millions.
