Ahh, what a beautiful Saturday. The snow had stopped falling for the day and the courtyard was a beautiful glittering land all to its own. Covered in the white powder with a bit of sunshine reflecting into the school grounds, it was a beautiful setting. It almost reminded Charlene of dishwashing detergent, which is kind of a weird thing to compare to snow. But then again, who was one to judge if one thing was weird or not? Just one huge matter of opinion. Other cultures might find one thing perfectly normal, while another seems to think it too abnormal for words. Opinions, a beautiful feature that goes along with the human mind. One cannot imagine a world without it. How would anyone want to? I t would eliminate individualism, which would be a complete and total shame. So many great things would not exist and people probably would have never left the caves and remained ignorant to many things, beautiful things in the world. Yes, Charlene was quite happy that day.

She had woken up to snow fall and her roommate’s classical music, the song being the theme to Howl’s Moving Castle if she was correct. Either way, it was gorgeous. Charlene couldn’t even find the heart to take even one smoke. Pulling her hair up in a messy bun and putting on only a bit of make up, such as mascara and a bit of nude lipgloss. For once in a long while, she sat down to eat in the cafeteria to have breakfast. She would have had talked to her sister Freya if she had seen her, but she supposed that the skinny redhead had gone home for the weekend. Now she couldn’t understand why, her parents always making her want to drink something hard and smoke. Their constant fighting… constant fear…

But today that was far from her mind! Grabbing her sketch pad and her battery powered boom box, Charlene scurried out into the school grounds to do a bit of sketching. Warmth ran through her like warm water in a shower, making the sun unnecessary for her at the moment. Not that she wasn’t happy that the sun was shinning through a bit, it just felt as if there was a piece of the sun inside herself that day.

Running out into the fields, not too far from the school but just far enough that it wouldn’t feel as if she was truly ‘apart’ of it, the girl dusted away the snow form the flat surface of a stump and set the boom box down. Her butt hit the snow next to the stump, singer pressing the ‘on’ button with force. Her glossy lips turned up in a smile, taking out a pencil from her coat pocket. “Cave of Mind” drifted out of the little radio and into the ears of Charlene. The desire to draw hit her immediately, eyes focusing on the paper. It felt like there wasn’t anything else in the entire world and she loved it. It was like society was in lands far away, worries and unhappiness resting with them. It was very poetic, but she didn’t get that many days like this. The sun, that little glimmer of golden light, was raw inspiration. It made her tingle and smile. Luckily there was too much snow from the earlier fall for sport activities to take place.

The piece of paper soon began to reveal a bit of what it held. Inside, somewhere, was a woman and a man, in the middle of nothing. Charlene was too wrapped up in what she was doing to notice another person entering the area. Normally her blue eyes would have shot up to meet that of the person’s, but today was not like any other day.
